Maria Barros Losada

Attorney

I am a double Licensed attorney in Spain (Europe) and in Texas (USA).

I was born and raised in a city in the South of Spain called Sevilla, where I lived until I was 27 years old. I graduated from the University of Sevilla in Law and Business in 2016 and practiced as a litigation attorney in a Law Firm called Maio Legal for almost 3 years. Working there I attended Court all over Andalucia, Murcia, Extremadura, and Madrid in different matters related to Civil, Commercial, and Employment Law. Litigation is my passion!

In 2020, I emigrated to the USA with my husband. When I arrived in Houston, I started working as a legal assistant for a Debt Defense Law Firm for almost a year.

In March 2021 I started to work with Mr. Ben Dominguez as a paralegal, then litigation coordinator and nowadays as an attorney. Mr. Dominguez taught me everything that I know about litigation in Texas, and we discovered that my Spanish legal skills and experience are very useful on this side of the ocean.

I have been lucky enough to attend several seminars to learn the top trial techniques and strategies from the best attorneys in the country, such as Trial Lawyers University (TLU) in Vegas, Huntington Beach, and New York, as well as Lanier Trial Academy in Houston. Also to learn how to better help our clients with brain injuries, and understand their needs and concerns, I went to TBI Med Legal in San Diego.

After these years of experience in the American legal world, finally, I started an LLM in American US Law at the University of Houston in August 2023 and I accomplished to be in the Dean’s List in the University of Houston for the Fall 2023 semester.

In July 2024 I passed the Texas BAR exam and I have been practicing as a personal injury attorney in Ben Dominguez’s Law Firm since then.
